A misunderstanding involving an alleged child abduction gang in Saraburi surfaced after CCTV footage captured the incident. The people involved claimed it was merely playful behaviour. A shop owner supported their statement, and they plan to meet the police yesterday, April 27.

The incident began when a Facebook user shared a video showing three men in a white box truck. The footage depicted two men appearing to approach two boys riding bicycles, but they quickly retreated as another vehicle passed by.

Saraburi’s investigative police, along with local officials, reviewed the CCTV footage, identifying the truck with licence plate number ผข 4054 from Suphanburi. The vehicle was seen leaving the Kasemrat community around 3.18pm, although the time it entered remains unclear. Further examination of municipal CCTV during working hours is planned.

One of the boys in the video explained that while cycling with his friend, a man in the truck lowered the window and jokingly asked if there were any children’s heads for sale. The boy jokingly replied that only dog heads were available. The two men then exited the truck, pretending to chase and catch the boys. When another vehicle approached, the men quickly returned to their truck and left.

Police traced the truck to its owner, Oranicha Homtuanlom, and contacted her husband, Suchon Kusukcharoen. He revealed that he and his partner run a delivery business for toys and snacks in Saraburi and Nakhon Ratchasima, using the truck with licence plate ผข-4054.

The driver, Natthawut Lumlerd, along with assistants Phaechomphu Chaonaedee and Sapol Saeteng, were identified from the CCTV footage. On April 26, Natthawut delivered goods and collected payments at a local shop, teasing the children playfully with no intent to abduct them, reported KhaoSod.

Police inquiries led them to Aunt Noi’s shop, where owner Angrakkhana Kaewbupha confirmed the driver had indeed visited to collect payment and was playfully interacting with the children. The three staff members plan to give statements to Mueang Saraburi police tomorrow to clarify the misunderstanding.
