Minimum Credit Hour Requirement
- Undergraduate students living on campus are required to enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Graduate students living on campus are required to enroll in minimum of 3 credit hours.
- Summer housing is only open to students enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit hour or working at least 30 hours per week (on or off campus).

Housing Contract Sign-up Process Steps
The academic year housing contract sign-up process is a two-part process that must be completed in full by the student.
Part 1: Information, Sign Contract and Pay $275
Part one of the housing contract process includes gathering the following information and payment, as well as signing and completing the housing contract agreement.
- Personal Information
- Lifestyle questions
- Emergency contact information
- Contract agreement (found online on our Housing Contracts, Rules and Policies page)
- Pay $275 ($75 non-refundable contract fee and $200 security deposit). You will be prompted to make this payment once you begin the sign-up process as one of the steps before completion.
- You must complete all steps in Part one of the housing contract process by the deadline dates in order to receive a room selection reservation time.
Part 2: Building and Room Selection
Part two of the housing contract process includes building and room selection.

Waitlist
We do not keep a waiting list for specific buildings or room types. However, beginning April 1, the housing contract sign-up process transitions to a waitlist system for those without contracts. Spaces are offered as they become available until move-ins.
In an effort to offer spaces in a timely manner to those on the waitlist, offer emails will be sent to the email address you provide to Housing Services on the waitlist form. You will be given 24 hours to complete the online contract process once an email is received.
- Waitlist offers will begin on May 1.
- Placement on the list will be determined by submission date and time.
- Being added to the waitlist does not guarantee that you will receive a housing offer.
- All waitlist correspondence will be sent to students' University email address (unless otherwise communicated). Be sure to check your email often for updates.
- Email offers and links will be sent on Mondays and Wednesdays of each week.
- When you reach the top of the list and sent an email offer, you have 24 hours to complete the online contract process and select a room.
- If you do not complete the contract process within 24 hours of email offer, you will be removed from the list.
- This waitlist process is not intended for students with existing housing contracts. Those wishing to make building or room changes can do so through the room change process accessed through the Housing Portal.
Payment
Housing and meal plan (if required) charges are included on your University account along with tuition and fees. Review our Housing Rates and Dates page for more information.

Individuals with a disability related need for an Emotional Support Animal should familiarize themselves with the ESA Policy. Residents seeking to have their ESA at the time of move-in should complete the ESA request and approval process at least 45 days days prior to the room selection date whenever possible.

- Please ensure your browser software is up to date with the latest available software.
- Know your USU A# and Password
- You will receive your A# when you are admitted to USU and will need it to log into the Housing Portal.
- To set up your USU Account click herehttps://myid.usu.edu/
- If you are under 18 a parent or legal guardian will also be required to sign the contract.
- Have a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account to pay the $75 non-refundable contract fee and $200 security deposit

Apple Safari
In addition to updating your Safari software, please ensure your Mac OS is up-to-date. These settings also need to be updated if using an iPhone or iPad
- In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Settings, then click Websites. Select Pop-up Windows on the left. To the right of "When Visiting Other Websites" select Allow.
- Go back Safari > Settingclick Privacy. Disable (uncheck box) "Prevent cross-site tracking". Also Disable (uncheck box) on the left side of "Block All Cookies" under Cookies and Website Data.
